My first outfit of the day post for the new year!
Gosh I have barely been able to get out of bed for the past 3 weeks because of the swollen glands, was not exactly feeling up for an ootd during that period! But I feel better today, stronger and in dire need of an outing so I decided to have a go with playing dress up today 🙂
It’s a cool day in Singapore, which is a rarity in our usual humid and warm climate. We do experience monsoon at the year end. I suppose the wonky global climate explains the cooler weather we’re experiencing on the little red dot.
This evening, I wore a mint green 3/4 sleeved peplum top, paired with blue leggings from Cotton On. The wooden statement necklace was purchased off eBay Singapore.
Makeup for the look : Yves Saint Laurent black kohl at the lower lash line, black mascara by Majolica Majorca which is an offshoot of the Shiseido brand and a shade of red on the lips by Maybelline. I apply Eucerin’s Dermo Purifier Active Concentrate as a primer, applying moisturiser and makeup is rather effortless after using the lotion as a base. The compact powder that I apply is from The Body Shop.
I really, really, hope the mono will make a disappearance soon so that I can get started on my working out again. You know how it is, you begin to feel restless and people like me with Way too much hyper energy need good outlets! I cannot run due to prior injuries but I have come to enjoy brisk walking to my workouts playlist!
I reckon it’s time to invest in one more pair of dumbbells, my current 3lb pair is beginning to bore me. I also think it’s time to visit the neighbourhood gym to work on the stationary bike and rower. My own stationary bike requires me to work up to a certain cardio level, man even level 1 on that machine is Tough! So I’ll start off in the gym on the recumbent bike.
Slow & Steady does it.
I’ll get elastic bands & other additional exercise tools over the year. I’ve been a gym goer since age 19, I’ve had personal trainers over the years so I know the ins and outs of cardio training, interval training, weight lifting..the works. But this time, like I have mentioned before, I want a fun spin on this old fandango. Being a trained classical Indian dancer I do miss my dance classes, and by that I don’t just mean Indian dance. I also am quite the water baby, so I hope to get more fun splashing about in the pool while getting toned.
Swimming and Dancing are such fun that you don’t pay attention to getting tired or sweating buckets during those activities. I had a really nice time walking about a nature reserve in Singapore and I do love nature, the outdoors so that is definitely a new way that I intend to stay less sedentary with.
But, until the swollen glands do not recede your blogger must be a good girl by taking her medication and having plenty of rest. Tomorrow I’ll be headed either to the beach or a cafe (depending on the weather) for a relaxing Sunday with friends. I may or may not churn out a post. Depends on my health..
