What inspired you to start blogging?
I originally started blogging (and still blog there) as Indigo Violet on wordpress. I express myself most eloquently when writing. I’ve been writing stories, essays, poems and journal entries since I was 12. I was curious to move onto a public platform, to see what others had to say and to get a chance to meet like-minded people in the blog world. As a psychotherapist, my job is more passive as a listener and guide, so I needed an outlet to unleash my hyper brain thought processes.
Curves Become Her was something I had been thinking about, conceptualising after a year or two of blogging as Indigo Violet.
I needed a separate space to balance out the different parts of me :
Indigo Violet is the mellow, introspective, often quirky writer and observer of life and human behaviour.
CBH is a vibrant part of me that delves into areas of fashion, body acceptance, style choices for a plus sized body.
How did you come up with the name to your blog?
I named it Indigo Violet because well, those are two of my favourite colors and I had read a book by Ntokaze Shange entitled Sassafras, Cypress and Indigo about 3 sisters trying to find their respective paths in life. The vivid and lush storytelling left such a mark on me.
Curves Become Her was a title that just occurred to me one night while I was penning a journal entry about learning to love my generous curves. It also helped that I’d watch the Meryl Streep & Goldie Hawn movie that nite! It stayed in my head and I decided it was an apt name for a plus size blog. It’s a self-affirmation!
What is your favorite blog that you like to read?
Hmm, there are So many…where do I begin? Famous & Popular blogs aside, I really enjoy reading my close friends’ blogs: namely H is for Happiness and Munira’s Bubble. It helps me stay connected to them, it’s good insight to what they’re thinking of at the moment and they’re inspiring reads. Naturally I enjoy reading blogs of so many other plus size fashionistas like Gabi Fresh, Girl With Curves, Nadia Aboulhosn, Le blog de Big Beaute, Weesha’s World. I enjoy reading the blogs of 9to5 chic, Atlantic Pacific and Givenchic Girl.

It’s filled. That’s that.
If you could go anywhere for a week’s vacation, where would you go?
I’d love to go to Brazil for a week next year during the World Cup!
What food can you absolutely not eat?
Seafood, Fish. I’ve tried to like them, to no avail. I eat fish only if it’s fish & chips. I just cannot stomach the smell and those pesky little bones.
Dark chocolate or milk chocolate?
Both. I just LOVE chocolate!
How much time do you spend blogging?
Not as much as I ought to !
Do you watch TV – if so, what are some of your favorite shows?
I am not much of a couch potato, if I do flip the channels I usually watch a movie. But currently I do enjoy Fringe, The Mindy Project, Game of Thrones
Some shows from the past that I love:
Friends, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, United States of Tara, SATC, Nip/Tuck, Freaks & Geeks, Seinfeld, Goodness Gracious Me, The X-Files, Mind Your Language, Ally McBeal, Absolutely Fabulous, Alfred Hitchcock Presents .. well this is just a wee bit of what I have enjoyed watching on the small screen.
