Punk’D at the Met Gala

Like every year that has passed since I first heard of the Metropolitan Museum of Art – Costume Institute’s Gala, I awaited the interpretation of the theme given for 2013. This year was a personally much loved one – Punk! I was your regular punk and goth fashion chick in her adolescence (Me wild child, yes yes) so I still love nothing more than some tartan and ripped cloth blazing a trail of rebellion in the face of ‘pretty’ fashion.

Some celebrities completely got the idea of punk wrong, while others were worthy of a black punk crown. Some just seemed like they didn’t want to make an effort at all, which is such a shame because Fashion is supposed to be Fun!

My top looks for the night:

Madonna looking powerful in punk. She is wearing Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci

Rooney Mara is also wearing Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci and is escorted by the fashion designer himself

Tommy Hilfiger seen here with his wife

Kerry Washington dressed in a Vera Wang gown, with the designer herself

Rapper Eve in a sheer black dress with leather woven strips

Kelly Osborne decked out in Marc Jacobs

Christina Ricci in a Vivienne Westwood gown

January Jones in an uncharacteristic look, wearing Chanel

The ever fashion forward Katy Perry in Dolce & Gabbana

Sarah Jessica Parker 🙂
in a Giles gown

Nicole Richie like I have never seen before! Wearing a TopShop gown. That shock of hair is awesome.

Giselle Bundchen looks like she’s ready to party in the club! Wearing a LBD by Anthony Vaccarello.

Anne Hathaway in..no surprises here.. Valentino 🙂
Classy yet edgy

very impressed by Lily Collins look, who is wearing Moschino

Hippie gone punk done right by Sienna Miller who is wearing Burberry

Love this! Anja Rubik in Anthony Vaccarello

I must say, I am loving Miley’s style choices of late. She’s wearing a Marc Jacobs column dress

Constance Jablonski rocking the current trend of Metallic shades to good use in a punk ensemble by Wes Gordon

One of my personal favourites of the night. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also rocking the metallic sheen on her netted Gucci gown

My favourite look of the night! Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale know their punk 🙂

Til my next post,
Be kind to one another xxx
