Location Location Location!

A very good Sunday afternoon to my friends in the East and a good night to my pals in the West!

The week just whizzed by in a blur as is always the case for us adults. I spent some time doing retail therapy midweek which was fun of course 😉

I chanced upon these pretty work wear heels at Marks & Spencer’s, Wheelock Place. I didn’t purchase them but oh they are definitely on the soon-to-buy list!

I moved along to Rubi, and bought myself a few shoes – 2 pairs of close-toed heels, 2 pairs of loafers

I did not manage to get espadrilles as per the August buy-list, but no matter. At least they weren’t ballet flats, Again!

I shopped online for clothing, bought a pair of black palazzo pants & a wrap dress from Flow, the plus size store located in Malaysia. Shipping to Singapore is FREE until 31st August, so locals take note! The store does cater to other international locations as well so give it a google and see if you find something to your fancy. It’s not a generous variety, but it isn’t half bad 🙂

Friday evening was spent having a dimsum dinner with friends. Din Tai Fung is my favourite spot for that so we endured the long queue for the good food 🙂

I decided to wear the dress from Flow for that evening, perks of buying from a neighbouring country’s store is how quickly it gets delivered.

blue (or teal?) ruched jersey dress US size 16 (UK 20)

I had miscalculated my size, Im between a UK 16-18 which equates to a US 12-14. Since it was loose at the waist, I cinched it in with a belt.

ethnic-styled earrings – Little India

The dress is comfortable and definitely flattering. I will consider a printed version of the dress in the future 🙂

Here’s a few pics from the evening :

Well that was Friday.
Saturday was better still 🙂
My close friend Rachel, who is an awesome fashion blogger came up with the idea of us shooting each other’s blog pictures at the Seletar reservoir. It’s a place Im familiar with because I lived in Yishun with my folks, and Rachel lives close by as well.

The hubster took some impromptu pictures near our place first, then Rachel shot more photographs at the reservoir.

look for Saturday:

black jersey palazzo pants,
Flow US size 16
necklace – Lovisa

I went with my old makeup look :

a generous amt of Revlon kohl for the lower lash area, swipe of Rimmel mascara at the upper lash ends, coral Maybelline lipstick

the last picture was taken in a cab on the way to meet Rachel, the sunlight streaming through the cab was spectacular 🙂

It was a warm day, really warm!
So we cooled off on our way to town,
walked around Haji Lane. I have not had a proper look-see through the area, probably another dismissal of the shops not storing clothing in my size. Oh but the accessories, trinkets, jewellery were fantastic! Made one of a kind in most of the stores.

Soon Lee (pic above) is Rachel’s go-to place in Haji Lane. It’s a really quaint store selling store-made clothing, necklaces and shoes.

The picture above is of the store opposite Soon Lee. Here are a few more pics during the walk and dinner at Crostini Bar, which is located along the same lane.

The dessert selection at The Crostini bar is amazing! I tried the
Mocha brûlée

I was really sleep deprived and we were heading to watch a Hindi movie which was going to last 3 hours, so I needed a cappuccino along with the brûlée !!

For my fellow Hindi movie goers,
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is well worth your ticket stub so watch the movie! Especially for Farhan Akhtar’s stellar performance.

This is where I bid you adieu and to have a great week ahead. There is so much I’d like to talk about on a more personal level, so I’ll be penning a post tonight or tomorrow.

A special thank you to my awesome friend Soma Rachel George for the photographs at the reservoir and her vote of confidence in moi xxxxx

I was very self conscious in Saturday’s attire, it’s not a look that I am accustomed to and it is rather snug. What made the difference was the reminder that my internal mirror is cracked and it’s still mending. outsiders can be harsh especially in an Asian nation, so I have no business making things harder for myself. I held my head up high and enjoyed the rest of my Saturday.

Now for Sunday..siesta time!!
Be Kind to one another folks,
and to Yourself
